What is a Pick Pork BBQ?

BBQ Cart Events

A Pick Pork BBQ is a highly anticipated seasonal service provided by Pork Council on behalf of Manitoba’s 1400 pork producers. It involves one of our fabulous Grill Teams, a mobile barbecue and our signature product-Pork on a Bun. Manitoba Pork Council staff cook and serve thousands of tasty Pork on a Bun sandwiches in and around Winnipeg from May until October. The Pick Pork Grill team and barbecue cart will come to your event with all the pork, buns, toppings and napkins you’ll need and then they’ll do the grilling for you.

Each scrumptious serving of Pork on a Bun consists of a 3 oz (approx.) slice of smoked pork loin inside a fresh baked white or whole wheat bun, served with your choice of toppings.

Toppings include:

Assorted BBQ Sauces
Bread & Butter Pickles
Hot Pepper Rings
Mustard (regular)
Ketchup

How much does it cost?
$2.85 per serving (tax included). This includes the meat, bun, condiments, napkins and our services.

Minimum Charges and Payment Options:
The minimum charge depends on where your event is located (see below). Payment can be made by cash, cheque, VISA or MasterCard.

Winnipeg Events:
• 60 servings minimum

Events outside Winnipeg but within a 50 km radius (e.g. Steinbach, Stonewall):
• 80 servings minimum

Events outside the 50 km radius but no more than 100 km (e.g. Carman, Gimli):
• 120 servings minimum, PLUS a $20.00 mileage surcharge

Events outside 100km radius but no more than 150 km (e.g. Winkler, Morden):
• 200 servings minimum, PLUS $25.00 mileage surcharge

Events outside the 150km radius will be considered on an individual basis.

Decide on quantity of servings required

Then wait with great anticipation. We’ll come, rain or shin, day or evening, weekday or weekend and holidays too!

Worried about ordering too much?
No problem! We’ll help you figure it out. Not only that, but we can take back any meat that wasn’t put on the grill because our pork is smoke and cured. Buns are subject to a $0.25 charge for each bun ordered but no used (you keep the buns).

Pork on a Bun is a great addition to any fundraising event and a lean, nutritious and delicious alternative to hot dogs and hamburgers. Many schools, charities, businesses and sports clubs have used Pick Pork BBQs with great success.
